Why take a workshop?
Receive one-on-one instruction and advice on hand lettering processes and techniques.
If you’re an aspiring calligrapher or lettering artist, art director or designer, or just someone who wants to pickup a new skill, this workshop will provide you with the fundamental knowledge that you need in order to pursue intentional lettering practice.
I will talk through my journey as a hand lettering artist; the differences between lettering, typography, calligraphy and type design; step you through the construction and process of a lettering piece; and we'll have a damn good time doing so.

The Basics of Hand Lettering Workshop
Beginning in March 2017, I have taught over 200+ students my "Basics of Hand Lettering" course.
This workshop is for people interested in the basics of hand lettering as well as those who have been lettering for years. I will go over the fundamentals of drawing letter forms, speak to the differences between lettering, calligraphy, and type design as well as share my process for conceptualizing, designing, and lettering words or phrases for any use such as branding, advertising campaigns, poster or t-shirt artwork, wedding save the dates, invites and cards.
