Field Trips
Field Trips
"Create for yourself a life in which you care to live."
-Me, right now.
I try to approach every day with a similar mentality: it is just as likely that I'll throw on a pot of coffee and work a 14-hour-day as it is that I'll hop in the car with a stranger and embark on a 2-week, unplanned road trip.
I am a firm believer in the importance of a well balanced life. I was not designed to sit under florescent lights all day only to come home, exhausted from stress, and sit around watching TV. With this mentality, I have taken an initiative to make my "work" and my "play" one and the same—my career as a designer and my passion for travel and the outdoors have coalesced.
Frequent travel as well as regular trips into the mountains with which I am surrounded have a heavy influence on my work, and I treat every trip as an opportunity to create. These mini-sabbaticals have become integral in my process, and they help me remain inspired and feeling refreshed. Below are a few field trips, big and small, that I've taken over the past few years. Take a peek into my world—a world dictated by the pursuit of balance.
